Spotlight: Smoky Mountain H2O Sports

One very famous part of East Tennessee’s tourism and, naturally as an extension of, the Smoky Mountains that doesn’t get advertised as much in Pigeon Forge, Gatlinburg, Wears Valley or even much of Sevierville is one that many visitors should absolutely consider for their Smoky Mountain vacation: the awesome and expansive Douglas Lake north of Sevierville. Douglas Lake is a fairly short distance from the Smoky Mountains – about 30 minutes driving distance from Pigeon Forge or at the very least much less than a day-trip driving time away – and it serves as the closest thing we have to a beach here for hundreds of miles around.
